Across the states, Vermont, Utah, and Minnesota earned the highest rankings for Medicare beneficiary access to high-quality, affordable care, according to rankings issued by The Commonwealth Fund. The rankings are based on each state’s performance, relative only to Medicare beneficiaries, on 31 health system performance indicators in four domains. Based on the same criteria, Louisiana, Mississippi, and Kentucky ranked the lowest.
