12% Of Veterans Served Via Telehealth In Fiscal Year 2014
On October 10, 2014, the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) announced that its national telehealth programs provided more than 2 million telehealth visits to more than 690,000 veterans during fiscal year (FY) 2014. About 12% of all veterans enrolled in VA health care services received telehealth services, and 55% of the telehealth visits were for veterans living in rural areas with limited access to VA health care. The VA telehealth program includes 44 clinical specialties, including mental health.
