Court Orders Virginia DOC To Provide Better Medical Care At Fluvanna Women’s Correctional Center
On January 2, 2019, the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Virginia issued an injunction against senior officials at the Virginia Department of Corrections (VDOC) because the state has failed to provide adequate medical care for inmates at the Fluvanna Correctional Center for Women (FCCW). The judge ordered the VDOC to comply with the Settlement Agreement approved by the Court in 2016 in Scott v. Clarke.
