On January 2, 2019, the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Virginia issued an injunction against senior officials at the Virginia Department of Corrections (VDOC) because the state has failed to provide adequate medical care for inmates at the Fluvanna Correctional Center for Women (FCCW).
