OPEN MINDS Weekly News Wire Strategic Health Care News On April 6, 2009, the federal Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) announced the Part C and D payment policies and methods CMS will use to calculate 2010 capitation payment rates for Medicare Advantage (MA) plans. The Medicare growth rate, a key factor used to determine 2010 payments for Medicare Advantage plans, will be only 0.81% higher than the growth rate applied for 2009. CMS also announced that it will apply a 3.41% reduction to all MA Part C risk adjustment scores to account for differences in disease . . .
