It’s a new market landscape when it comes to the intersection of Medicaid and the corrections system.;For example, starting January 1, 2025, state Medicaid and CHIP plans will be required to cover medically necessary screenings (including medical, dental, and behavioral health), diagnostic services, and case management for all eligible youth (under age 21 and former foster care youth under age 26) in public institutions 30 days prior to release.
