About 3% Of Pennsylvania Child Care Provider Organizations Intend To Close Due To COVID-19 Challenges, Another 14% At Risk Of Closing
As of June 29, 2020, about 3% of Pennsylvania child care provider organizations (125 organizations) intended to close due to coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) challenges. Another 14% were at risk of closing without financial assistance to offset ongoing costs of implementing COVID-19 guidelines and reduced enrollments. A total of 7,017 licensed child care provider organizations were operating in Pennsylvania prior to COVID-19.
