Alaska Medicaid Planning 75% Decrease In The Annual Number Of IDD Waiver Slots For Beneficiaries On The Wait List
The Alaska Medicaid program has proposed a 75% reduction in the number of new Intellectual and Developmental Disability (IDD) Waiver slots to be created for people on the waiver wait list. Since 2008, the state has created about 200 new waiver slots each year to serve people on the wait list; each month 20 people are drawn from the registry based on their IDD Registration and Review score as well as any circumstances putting them at high risk of institutionalization.
