The California Department of State Hospitals (DSH) intends to transition the information system for its five state psychiatric hospitals to an automated, prior authorization management and claims adjudication platform. The procurement process started on June 29, 2022, when DHS issued a request for proposals (RFP 22-70004-000) seeking a vendor to provide an integrated enterprise-level solution for addressing the health care needs of DHS residents. The selected vendor will provide a statewide health care provider organization network (HCPN), a third-party administrator (TPA), and an automated prior authorization (PA) system.
