Denver Launches Basic Income Project For People Experiencing Homelessness
The Denver Basic Income Project is launching to test the effect of giving cash to people experiencing homelessness. The project, which starts on July 1, 2021, will include 820 homeless participants, split into three groups. There are two intervention groups, in one the 260 participants will receive $1,000 per month, in the other, the 260 participants will receive $6,500 as a lump sum and $500 per month. The 300 control group participants will receive $50 per month.
