In an analysis of interoperability of a select group of electronic health records (EHR), Epic, Nextgen, and Cerner earned the highest ratings for interoperability. The analysis was conducted by KLAS, a leading healthcare IT research firm. It rated adoption and usability among advanced users of the main acute and ambulatory care EHR vendors within national interoperability networks Carequality and CommonWell Health Alliance. These two networks have become some of the primary paths by which consumer information is shared.
