FCC Recommends Designating ‘988’ For National Suicide Prevention Hotline
On August 14, 2019, the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) recommended designating "988" as the three-digit dialing code to be used for a nationwide suicide prevention and mental health crisis hotline. The goal of the hotline is to make it easier for Americans in crisis to access potentially life-saving resources.
