Kansas Medicaid Planning To Integrate Seven HCBS Waivers Into KanCare Managed Care
Kansas Medicaid is planning to combine its seven 1915(c) Medicaid home- and community-based services (HCBS) waivers to create two service pools: one for children and one for adults. The state plans to integrate the 1915(c) waivers into Medicaid managed care through its existing 1115 demonstration waiver, entitled KanCare. The initiative affects waiver service packages that target specific population groups by diagnosis: autism, frail or elderly, intellectual/developmental disabilities, physical disabilities, serious emotional disturbance, and traumatic brain injury. The initiative also affects technology-assistance waiver services.
