Michigan Awards $9 Million To Samaritas & Wellspring Lutheran Services To Implement The HOMEBUILDERS Family Preservation Services Model
The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) is newly adopting the HOMEBUILDERS® family preservation program. MDHHS recently awarded $9 million for three-year contracts with Samaritas ($7.9 million) and Wellspring Lutheran Services ($1.1 million). The two organizations will implement HOMEBUILDERS® as a new service in seven counties: Calhoun, Ingham, Jackson, Kalamazoo, Kent, Muskegon, and Wayne. The contracts began January 14, 2021 and January 21, 2021, run through September 30, 2023. Samaritas anticipates serving 252 people over the contract in Calhoun, Ingham, Jackson, Kalamazoo, Kent, Muskegon, and Wayne counties.
