Nebraska eliminated its Medicaid home- and community-based services (HCBS) waitlist for individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities (I/DD) four months earlier than anticipated in September 2024, according to a June 23, 2025, press release from the state. The elimination of the waitlist is the result of an additional $18 million in state funding and federal matching funds to support service delivery to children with I/DD and their families.
