On December 15, 2021, the New York State Office for People With Developmental Disabilities (OPWDD) announced funding to extend a supported decisionmaking pilot for three years. The pilot was launched by New York Developmental Disabilities Planning Council (DDPC). OPWDD is now dedicating a portion of the funding it will receive through the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) to continue the pilot program and expand it to include supported decisionmaking facilitation as an effective way to ensure that people are assisted to implement effective and sustainable supported decisionmaking agreements.
