The uninsured rate rose from 10.9% in December 2016 to 11.3% by April 2017, representing an increase of 8% more uninsured adults. However, the current uninsured rate is far less than a record high of 18% in 2013.

These findings were reported in “U.S. Uninsured Rate Edges Up Slightly” by Zac Auter for the Gallup-Healthways Well-Being Index. Researchers interviewed 44,596 U.S. adults, aged 18 and older, between January 2, 2017 and March 31, 2017.
