ShiftAbility is a transformation consulting firm with a mission to give agencies the tools and expertise they need to embrace the Smart Living model. Through training, assessment tools, and connections with technology companies, ShiftAbility sets up agencies to be their own remote support provider. ShiftAbility is made up of subject matter experts with experience in the I/DD and Mental Health fields, technology and process management. These experts were part of the team that developed the Smart Living Model of support. Smart Living is a new way of delivering services, using a value-based tech-first approach. It includes new ways to assess staffing, the needs of the individuals, how to deliver supports, and the cultural methodology of inclusive services. A smart living provider works to achieve independence and inclusion for people supported while building capacity to serve more. This is accomplished through new ways to assess staffing, the needs of individuals and how the supports are delivered through assistive technology both remotely and in-person at home and in the community.
