CFO As Architects Of Value: Creating A Service Line Expense & Revenue Model

February 19, 2026

1:00 – 2:00 pm ET

Chief financial officers (CFOs) are under increasing pressure to demonstrate the financial sustainability and strategic value of every service line. Today’s market realities simply demand more rigorous financial discipline, yet many provider organizations lack dynamic, scenario-based costing models to assess service line investments. Without clear visibility into the cost and revenue structure of each program, organizations risk building service lines that cannot be sustained or scaled.

In this one-hour live presentation, David Wawrzynek, Senior Advisor at Coordinated Care Services, Inc. (CCSI), will demonstrate an approach to building a dynamic Excel-based expense and revenue model to support the implementation of fiscally responsible and sustainable service lines. The model has three components—calculation of the available hours per full-time employee (FTE), volume projections, and a cost and revenue model.

Mr. Wawrzynek will demonstrate how to identify key revenue and cost variables, how to structure the model to allow for scenario building, and the critical role clinical leadership must play in developing program design and modeling. The demonstration will also show how the most sensitive variables can be identified that become the variables that must be measured and managed to ensure the program meets its clinical outcome goals in a fiscally responsible and sustainable fashion.

Executive attendees will learn:

  • A method for developing an Excel-based program unit costing model that is dynamic and facilitates scenario analysis
  • The ability to recognize and monitor the most critical expense and cost drivers, ensuring they are effectively measured and managed for both clinical and financial excellence
  • How clinical and financial partnership is critical to creating realistic revenue and cost models
