Technology As Capacity & Quality Multiplier: The Monarch Case Study

June 22, 2026

1:00 – 2:00 pm ET

Many provider organizations focused on long-term services and supports (LTSS) and populations with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) are looking for ways to adopt technology to support both their staff and to promote greater consumer independence. If innovations are to positively reshape provider organizations, it will take technology adoptions that can improve care access, reduce costs, slow staffing turnover, and scale to support the bottom line.

During this one-hour live presentation, Christy Shaver, Senior Advisor for LTSS at Monarch, will share how her organization has incorporated technology-enabled supports (TES) and remote staff as a replication of in-person support in licensed group homes for both individuals with I/DD and mental health diagnoses.

Christy will walk through how Monarch partnered with state leaders and local management entity/managed care organizations (LME/MCOs) to ensure waiver flexibility supported this innovation, laying the groundwork for a sustainable, compliant, and scalable model of care.

What This Case Study Explores

The session examines Monarch’s pursuit of four core outcomes through technology adoption:

  • Increasing consumer independence and autonomy
  • Improving staff work-life balance and retention
  • Influencing how states and MCOs define and fund “support” in a digital environment
  • Transitioning to a cost-effective service model that supports growth and long-term return on investment (ROI)

What Executive Attendees Will Learn

  • How technology and remote staff can make in-person support more purposeful, efficient, and impactful
  • How to plan and budget for upfront investment while positioning the organization for value-driven care models
  • How to collaborate with payers and state partners to scale innovation and redefine LTSS delivery
