Illinois' City of Chicago Board of Education seeks a contractor to provide Saturday Morning Alternative Reach Out and Teach (SMART) services. SMART is a Board-sponsored alternative educational program for students in the sixth grade or above who are first time offenders of certain Group 5 and 6 Acts of Misconduct as defined in the Chicago Public Schools Student Code of Conduct. Targeted acts of misconduct include drug and alcohol use and/or possession, not selling or distribution, and other non-violent acts. The SMART Program gives students who are recommended for the SMART Program by an expulsion hearing officer . . .
