New York State Education Department, Office of Vocational and Educational Services awarded a contract to increase the involvement of youth with disabilities in independent living centers and services to Aim Independent Living Center. The goal of this project is to address strategic goals of the New York State Independent Living CouncilÕs (ILC) Youth Leadership Subcommittee, which includes the development of a statewide youth with disabilities steering committee, the provision of training of ILCs in understanding youth culture and the engagement of youth with disabilities in articulating positions on key legislation affecting their lives.
