Illinois' Cook County Juvenile Probation and Court Services Department seeks a contractor to provide alternatives to effectively and efficiently reduce the number of minors held in secure detention by providing shelter care facilities. Two avenues for admissions to the shelter care facilities exist. First, minors who are placed in the Cook County Juvenile Temporary Detention Center (DTDC), however are appropriate for a less restrictive environment (i.e., awaiting placement, or in need of respite care), can be court ordered released from the JTDC by a Juvenile Court judge to the shelter care facilities.
