A Blueprint For Sustained Trauma-Informed Care: The Hillsides & Klingberg Family Centers Case Study
1:00 – 2:00 pm ET
Trauma-informed care (TIC) is difficult to implement—and even more difficult to sustain. Workforce shortages, competing priorities, and system pressures often pull organizations back toward reactive, punitive approaches that undermine progress.
Leaders who can cultivate a permanent culture of compassion that supports the intersection of trauma and equity can improve treatment for consumers and protect the health of staff, contributing to financial stability through reduced staff turnover and better outcomes.
In this one-hour live presentation, Samira Vishria, LCSW, Senior Director of Professional Development at Hillsides, and Patricia Wilcox, LCSW, Vice President of Strategic Development at Klingberg Family Centers, will present specific actionable steps for leaders to sustain a deeply embedded trauma-informed approach.
What This Case Study Explores
This session examines how organizations can sustain TIC by aligning three critical elements:
- Ongoing organizational commitment, including the integration of social justice and equity principles into leadership and operations
- Practical strategies to move beyond initial implementation, address staff burnout and turnover, and reduce reliance on punitive practices
- A culture that recognizes individual experiences of trauma while actively addressing bias, promotes equitable practices, and fosters healing within a framework of social justice

Executive attendees will gain practical insights on:
- The intersection of trauma, social injustice, and systemic inequities—and how these factors impact both consumers and staff
