Rethinking Your Business Model For Strategy—Back By Popular Demand

January 30, 2025

1:00 – 2:00 pm ET

Five years from now, the complex care market will be radically different than it is today. What that difference will be isn’t exactly clear, but unmet needs are likely to grow, as are consumer frustrations with the health care system. At the same time, both the funding available to do “traditional things in traditional ways” and the employment opportunities for professionals in the health care system are not sustainable.

Many executives try to adapt, including by launching new service lines, building linkages with integrated care and social determinants, and growing through mergers and acquisitions. Unfortunately, organizations are often left as “the same organization doing things in the same way.” The radical changes in business models needed to survive may require more radical strategic thinking.

During this one-hour recorded presentation, Raymond Wolfe, J.D., Senior Associate, OPEN MINDS, will introduce organizational redesign and experiments done by others in these areas. He will discuss innovative options for linking services with those of other provider organizations without mergers and new ways to develop, train, and modify procedures. He will also discuss how to change staff hierarchies to provide better learning opportunities and staff satisfaction, as well as better customer service.

Executive attendees of this session will learn about:

  • Strengths and weaknesses of an organization’s legal structure and the most compatible methods for networking and linkage it provides.
  • Quality-based methods, including check listing and swim lane flow charts for easy and effective creation and evolution of internal processes.
  • Options for differing models of staff supervision and growth that might improve the satisfaction of the staff and open them to new innovations.

This roundtable was originally presented on May 2, 2024.
