A new immigration processing center in California City, California, is dangerous for disabled people, according to a recent inspection by Disability Rights California (DRC).

DRC made a two-day inspection visit to the California City Immigration Processing Center on September 22 and September 23, 2025. DRC representatives interviewed officials and 17 detainees.

The inspection report stated the facility fails to:

Provide access to critical medical and mental health care.

Timely process and address disability-related requests.

Meet basic needs, including adequate food, water, and clothing.

DRC also accused the facility of employing staff who harass detainees and using solitary confinement . . .
