On June 9, 2020, the federal Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) announced a $15 billion Provider Relief Fund allocation for provider organizations that participate in state Medicaid and Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP) programs, but that have not received a payment from earlier relief allocations. The Provider Relief Fund was created by the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act.
