On June 30, 2016, Sovereign Health, a group of affiliated residential addiction treatment provider organizations, sued Health Net, a California health plan, for refusing to reimburse for services rendered to Health Net members. The complaint, Sovereign Health v. Health Net, alleges that Health Net has unjustly denied $55 million in claims submitted by Sovereign Health in 2015 and 2016.
