FTC Letter Approving Universal Health Services Sale of Nevada Facilities to Strategic Behavioral Health
December 27, 2011 The U.S. Federal Trade Commission (FTC) approved the sale of two Nevada psychiatric facilities owned by Universal Health Services (UHS) to Strategic Behavioral Health LLC. UHS was required to sell the facilities as a condition of FTC approval of UHS's 2010 acquisition of Psychiatric Solutions. The FTC said the acquisition was anticompetitive in three markets—Delaware; Las Vegas, Nevada; and Puerto Rico.
