Ophelia Launches Training Program To Prepare Nursing Students To Treat Opioid Use Disorder
Ophelia, which provides virtual treatment for people with opioid use disorder (OUD), launched a training program to prepare nursing students to support people being treated for OUD. The program is in partnership with the University of Pennsylvania School of Nursing. It is aimed at students in the Family Nurse Practitioner program.
The program provides didactic training modules and immersive experience treating people with OUD. Completing the program meets a portion of the requirements necessary to obtain an X-waiver, a license from the federal government to prescribe buprenorphine.
