The Wisconsin Department of Health Services (DHS) reported its plans to improve the sustainability of Medicaid home-and community-based long-term care programs operated by managed care organizations (MCOs). Planned program modifications will permit the MCOs to develop protocols that account for acuity, level of care, and natural supports, and the MCOs will not be required to routinely assign registered nurses to enrollees, although all enrollees will be able to contact registered nurses at any time.
