On January 25, 2012, United Cerebral Palsy Association of Oregon and Southwest Washington, Inc. along with plaintiffs on behalf of themselves filed a class action lawsuit against Oregon. The plaintiffs are individuals with disabilities who are employed in sheltered workshops where they are denied all contact with non- disabled people at the workshops. The plaintiffs have alleged that Oregon Department of Human Services over-relies on sheltered workshops instead of integrated employment settings.
