The report is based on an annual survey of addiction treatment facilities in the United States that either accept public funding or hold state licenses to provide addiction treatment. The data is reported by state and county. The survey is a point-in-time instrument to collect data on the location, characteristics, services offered, and number of clients in treatment at alcohol and drug abuse treatment facilities.
