Texas HHS Promoting Independence Plan 2022

On November 29, 2022, the Texas Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) published this Promoting Independence Plan (PIP) for 2022. The PIP is Texas’ comprehensive response to the Supreme Court’s 1999 Olmstead decision, but also outlines a vision and guiding principle for the Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) to provide a system of holistic services and supports that foster independence and self-determination for people with disabilities so that they may be able to live fully integrated into their chosen communities . . .
