Ohio Governor Proposes New Department Of Children & Youth
Ohio Governor Mike DeWine proposed creating a new Department of Children & Youth to consolidate programs from six state agencies. The goal is to increase administrative efficiency by reducing duplicative programs. The new department is anticipated to provide efficient and effective delivery of services to Ohio’s more than 2.5 million children and their families, allowing the state to focus on youth physical and behavioral health, children in foster care, and the state’s early childhood education system.
