New York City Non-Profit, Sheltering Arms, To Close, Cites Persistent Late Contract Payments
Sheltering Arms, a New York City non-profit provider organization founded in 1823, is closing because the city owes it millions in late contract payments. The organization serves more than 17,000 youth and families through its youth homeless shelters, foster care, mental health treatment, and housing programs. It has programs in every borough except Staten Island. Sheltering Arms also contracts with the Department of Youth and Community Development (DCYD) and the Administration for Children’s Services (ACS).
