On March 19, 2012, Ohio Governor John Kasich created a taskforce to boost community employment options for adults with developmental disabilities before the July 2012 implementation date of the state’s new Self-Empowered Life Funding (SELF) waiver, which was approved by the federal Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services on December 9, 2011.
