Non-Profit Sacramento Self-Help Housing To Close, Triggered By The County’s Decision Not To Renew Over $5 Million In Contracts To House The Homeless
A Sacramento housing non-profit organization is closing, and as a result more than 560 formerly homeless people could again return to the streets on June 30, 2023. At risk are more than 560 tenants in Sacramento and 100 in Stockton. Sacramento Self-Help Housing’s board of directors last week voted to close the organization because the county’s decided not to renew over $5 million in contracts.
The county Board of Supervisors had concerns that Sacramento Self-Help Housing was two years behind on its audits. The organization has missed paying rent on dozens of its housing units . . .
