Blues Plans In Michigan & Vermont Pursue Affiliation

Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan (BCBSM) and Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Vermont (Blue Cross VT) agreed to formally affiliate. The affiliation must be approved by regulators in both states. The goal of affiliation is to help both organizations broaden the range of health plan and service solutions that will further benefit members and customer groups, while remaining within and committed to local communities. This is an affiliation, not an acquisition, which means there is no financial exchange between the organizations.

As is the case today, premiums generated from each health plan will stay in the respective states . . .
