Empire BlueCross BlueShield Foundation Provides $450,000 To New York City Food Bank To Launch ‘Food As Medicine’ Program

Empire BlueCross BlueShield Foundation provided a $450,000 grant for the Food Bank For New York City to launch a ‘Food as Medicine’ program. This initiative will support Food Bank For New York City’s work to screen consumers for food insecurity during health care visits and connect them to on-site food assistance resources at health care facilities, community-based food pantries, and meal programs.
