CalOptima Health, the Medicaid health plan in Orange County, California invested $49 million to create transitional housing in the city of Tustin for beneficiaries age 55 and older who are unhoused and need medical assistance. The Community Living Center of Tustin will have capacity for 119 individuals needing recuperative care or rehabilitation who are referred by a hospital, city law enforcement, or a homeless shelter. The center will combine recuperative care and services of the CalOptima Health Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE).
