Mississippi Balancing Incentives Program Proposal

On June 13, 2012, Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) announced Mississippi had been approved for Medicaid Balancing Incentives Program (BIP) awards. The BIP funding is intended to help states working in partnership with community-based provider organizations to develop community-based systems of long-term care services and supports (LTSS) for older adults with disabilities as well as LTSS for individuals with behavioral health disorders, physical disabilities, or intellectual disabilities. The goal is that half or more of total state expenditures for LTSS should be for home- and community-based services, rather than institutional care . . .
