Centene Foundation Commits $1.1 Million To Alternatives For Girls
Centene Foundation and Centene subsidiary Meridian in Michigan committed $1.1 million in funding to Michigan-based Alternatives For Girls (AFG), a social service organization committed to supporting girls and young women experiencing homelessness. AFG will use the funding toward development and furnishing an early childhood center set to open in summer 2024.;
The center aims to offer homeless, high-risk girls and young women support and resources to maintain stable housing and become economically independent. AFG said the funding will support a whole-family approach to promote safety, healing, and recovery for homeless families.
