New Ulm Medical Center To Close Its 10-Bed Residential Addiction Unit
Due to the challenges of staffing a 10-bed residential addiction services program within the walls of a hospital, New Ulm Medical Center has discontinued the program. The medical center is part of Allina Health.
The medical center intends to transition the addiction treatment program to a new partial hospitalization and day treatment program. The new programs are slated to begin accepting referrals in early 2024.
The organization discussed its plans at a public hearing on October 11, 2023, hosted by the Minnesota Department of Health. New Ulm Medical Center is a non-profit hospital and clinic serving the region . . .
