Comprehensive Primary Care Initiative: Primary Care Practice Solicitation
June 15, 2012
The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services released a primary care practice solicitation for payers to join the Comprehensive Primary Care initiative. The intiative aims to foster collaboration between public and private health care payers. The initiative also aims to help physicians and health care professionals work with patients to improve primary care. This initiative will test a service delivery model and a payment model simultaneously. In every market, there is Medicaid participation, either directly through the state fee-for-service program or through the participation of Medicaid managed care plans.
