MACFacts: Financial Alignment Demonstration

On July 26, 2012, the Medicaid and CHIP Payment and Access Commission (MACPAC) in cooperation with the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) released a report on designing new approaches that better align the financing of the Medicaid and Medicare programs and integrate primary, acute, behavioral health and long term services and supports for dual eligible enrollees at the state level. The report discusses the plans across the 26 states that have submitted proposals for this Financial Alignment Demonstration which is currently testing two models: Capitated Model; and a Managed Fee-For- Service Model.
