Illinois Nursing Home Operator Petersen Health Care Files For Bankruptcy After Cyberattacks  

Illinois-based;Petersen Health Care, which operates more than 90 nursing homes in Illinois, Missouri, and Iowa, filed for Chapter 11 protection in Delaware. The filing listed more than $295 million in debt, including $45 million in debt insured by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) under health care facility loans.;

The company said it planned to continue operations normally while in bankruptcy, while seeking to restructure the;debts. It has almost 4,000 employees and its facilities have capacity for 6,796 residents. Its facilities offer assisted living, skilled nursing care, respite . . .
