On August 13, 2012, Delaware governor Jack Markell signed a law requiring individual health insurance plans to provide coverage for the diagnosis and treatment of autism spectrum disorders (ASD) for individuals under age 21. The provisions require insurers to provide up to $36,000 in benefits for applied behavior analysis services, with no restrictions on the number of visits or the location of service.
