In an August 2012 data brief, the National Center for Health Statistics released information on wait times for treatment in hospital emergency rooms. From 2003 to 2009, the mean wait time for emergency room visits increased by 25%. Data was gathered from the National Hospital Ambulatory Medical Care Survey.
