New York OPWDD Draft Request For Application For DISCOs

The New York Office for People With Developmental Disabilities (OPWDD) is planning to test capitated care management for individuals with developmental disabilities via a new type of managed care entity called a Developmental Disabilities Individual Support and Care Coordination Organization (DISCO). This document is a draft request for DISCO applications. OPWDD anticipates launching pilot DISCOs by late 2013, with voluntary enrollment to start in early 2014. The DISCOs are part of New York’s People First Medicaid Waiver proposal, which was submitted to the federal Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Service (CMS) on April 1, 2013.
