The Affordability Standards: A Summary

In October 2012, the Rhode Island Office of the Health Insurance Commissioner (OHIC) published a summary of the four standards in use under its Affordability Standards policy for fully insured commercial health plans that was adopted in 2008. The four standards are: 1) primary care spend standard; 2) patient-centered medical home (PCMH) standard; 3) the CurrentCare standard; and 4) the Hospital Contracting Conditions Standard.
